Tax return filing deadlines usually vary for individuals and businesses. And more specifically the type of business entity for tax purposes also determines the filing deadline. Here is an overview of the IRS 2023 important tax filing deadlines. When the due date falls on a holiday, the due date will be the next business day.
2023 IRS Tax Deadlines for Individuals
JAN. 18, 2023 – Deadline for Q4 2022 estimated tax payments.
JAN. 31, 2023 – Deadline for employees and independent contractors to receive their W-2.
FEB. 15, 2023 – Hurricane Victims:
APRIL 18, 2023 – Deadline for 2023 Q1 estimated tax payments.
APRIL 18, 2023 – Deadline for sole proprietors (businesses who report on a schedule C) and individual tax returns (Tax Day 2023).
JUNE 15, 2023 – Deadline for 2023 Q2 estimated tax payments.
SEPT. 15, 2023 – Deadline for 2023 Q3 estimated tax payments.
OCT. 16, 2023 – Deadline for 2023 individual tax returns that received a filing extension.

JAN. 17, 2023 – Deadline for Q4 2022 estimated tax payments.
JAN. 31, 2023 – Deadline for your employees and independent contractors to receive their W-2 or 1099-NEC/1099-MISC forms.
MARCH 15, 2023 – Deadline for partnership tax returns, including LLCs taxed as a partnership and S corp tax returns.
APRIL 18, 2023 – Deadline for Q1 2023 estimated tax payments.
APRIL 18, 2023 – Deadline for C corp tax returns.
JUNE 15, 2023 – Deadline for 2023 Q2 estimated tax payments.
SEPT. 15, 2023 – Deadline for 2023 Q3 estimated tax payments.
SEPT. 15, 2023 – Partnership and S corp tax deadline for those that received a filing extension.
OCT. 16, 2023 – C corp filing deadline for those who received a filing extension.
